I led UI for NBA 2K for over a decade. We shipped cross platform every year with teams of ten to thirteen designers, and the work was systems heavy and motion driven. I spent a lot of that time directly in-engine with engineers because that's where the real constraints live. Craft matters to me because at this scale, every small detail gets seen by millions of players.
